Wolf of the Willows
Wolf of the Willows is a family-owned and operated brewing company in Mordialloc, on Melbourne's south-east bayside in Victoria, established by Scotty and Renae McKinnon, who first landed on the Australian brewing scene with their XPA in 2014. The name comes from Lupus salictarius, the Latin name a Roman naturalist gave the wild hop vine that choked willows like a wolf taking the flock. The couple hand-built their own brewery and taproom on De Havilland Road, with a 15-hectolitre three-vessel brewhouse, 16 rotating taps, a big outdoor beer garden with a Digable Goods mural and a wall of whisky barrels. The range runs from the core Crisp Lager, Mid Pale Ale, PUP Hazy Pale, XPA and West Coast IPA to German-style seasonal lagers and Lark whisky barrel-aged imperial stouts.
